Edge Online: Blizzard Responds to Gay Guild Debate
You know what the second user comment was? "I don't see any news about Christian guilds getting official warnings for their Jesus talk and recruitment in general chat channels." Brilliant. Of course I should have seen this coming. Out of everything they could have written as an example, they had to pick Christianity.
I think there's a trend.
Well you know what? My "Jesus-talk" tells me that homosexuality and any derivitive of such is purely evil. So, yes, I support what Blizzard did here. They are within their rights to do whatever they want, and if you don't like it, you can either deal with it or you could leave. There's nothing that binds Blizzard to do what everyone else wants, or what everyone thinks is fair... it's all up to them. If you don't like giving money to someone who does this, then shut up and stop playing. There are plenty of us out there who will enjoy the game all the more without you mucking everything up for us.
So theeeeeere you have it!
It annoys me to no end when people continue to make fun of something because it's not working properly, because they don't know how to use it. I've told people that the Blizzard Downloader (that you use for downloading World of Warcraft patches) is, in essence, Bittorrent. You must forward the Bittorrent ports to the computer you're downloading from or it will be slow. I tell people this, but they don't listen and continue to shoot at Blizzard for their "slow" transfer services, and whine that they should make it better.
It's as good as it's going to get, folks, because it's already the best way to do it. You just need to wake up and learn how to use it the right way, and stop blaming Blizzard.
Thank you for listening to this early morning patch-day rant.
...by the way!
I just went through the entire list of Realms availible to World of Warcraft, checking for characters that I've forgotten about. Ahrotahntee members seem to keep dropping subtle hints about how many characters they have, as if that's somehow a status symbol. Well, if it is, then I think I take the cake. They think 10 is alot? Weeeeeell, I have 31 characters spread across 8 realms.
Do I play them all? Nope! Do they play all theirs? I doubt it.
But there you go. Just thought I'd mention it.
Maybe I'll release a list later. But right now, I'm off to prepare to leave to watch King Kong! We're going to try to hit the 4pm showing, so we're leaving at 2pm to get there early enough to get good seats!
Yep... 2 hours.
So I downloaded the WoW patch to 1.8.4.
I know I've had some problems with free harddrive space lately, but I didn't know it was THIS bad. The patch needs 1GB to unpack and patch and then deflate again. Weeeeell, I only had 800MB free... and, in my book, freespace under 1GB is not good. Not good at all.
I remembered my WoW screenshots folder was rather large, last time I looked at it. So I decided to take a peek at it today. I have 405 screenshots saved in TGA format totaling, oh... let's just put it at 3GB. Erm... yeah. Needless to say, I decided to use the AMAZING IrfanView program to batch convert them aaaall to JPeg! (Yes! JPeg! PNG eww! Haha!) 3GB to 100MB with low loss.
Happy? You betcha.
