In response to the results of the Presidential election, I made an effort to get up really early to listen to Glenn Beck. To be honest, he's on the radio from 9am to 12 noon and my sleep schedule's been all messed up and I've been missing him for the past several days. But not today... Went to bed early because I wanted to hear what everyone had to say, and something Glenn said smacked me over the head with the way it sounded:

"Save the Constitution, save the country!"

He said the liberal rallying cry has been to save the world, and Obama has openly said on many occasions that the Constitution is something that he wants to interpret radically different. No, no, no, no, no! That's why he's going to be such a horrible President! He's supposed to defend the Constitution, not remake the country in his own image. But that line really rang with me, probably because it was eerily similar to Heroes' first season tagline: Save the cheerleader, save the world. (And knowing Glenn, that could have been intentional.) But I decided to dispose of my Okami design in favor of something more patriotic and political.

Obama's rewriting of the Constitution is something we all need to watch very closely...

Bittersweet

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Just when you thought I was gone and rioting, guess what? I WASN'T! Hah! I mean, sure, Obama is quite possibly the worst man to become President of the United States for a variety of reasons I've already discussed at length... And, sure, I still think that he will ruin the economy with his tax policies and destroy our military morale and superiority with his foreign policies. Sure, I was rooting for McCain (but only honestly because of Sarah Palin) and, sure, I was in a bad mood last night... But I couldn't wait to listen to my buddies Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Peter Heck to see what they thought of last night. Like they all said, they woke up today and everything was bright and cheerful... Why? Because now we have hope. But our hope isn't Obama... It's BECAUSE of Obama!

The feeling was pretty much unanimous between them all, and let me tell you that such a thing is rare, indeed. Usually, while they obviously share the same conservative ideas, they each have a different perspective on things... Glenn is usually pessimistic. (Sorry, but he is.) Rush is usually "LET'S GET THIS DONE!" And Peter is the eternal optimist, but today, they all shared the same perspective, which I have now also come to accept: "Whew! What a relief!" No, seriously. Because, see... Everyone knew McCain was a horrible, horrible choice to represent the Republican party. We were voting for him simply because he wasn't as bad as Obama. He was still bad and we were all perfectly willing to vote for a third party until he picked Sarah Palin as an ambassador to the conservatives. It worked marginally well, but there were still obviously enough people out there who didn't think he was all he was cracked up to be. And let me tell you that I feel the same way... I feel bad for Sarah, because she was out there charging everyone up and people were CRAZY about her. But it was that guy she was running with that kept tossing water on the fire. Personally, I look forward to a time where Sarah might run her own campaign and blow everyone's socks off.

So I'm sure a lot of you liberals are wondering why in the heck I'm suddenly relieved that Obama managed to take the Presidency? Well... One thing, really. He's crazy insane liberal. He's everything the Democrat party has ever wanted and they got him where they wanted. They maintained the majority in Congress and they're dead set on doing whatever they want without those dastardly Republicans in their way. (Although just you wait, since the Congress can still be filibustered by the Republicans, the Democrats will still somehow manage to blame them for everything that happens.) But why am I relieved about that? Remember a post I wrote a bit ago that said the only good thing that could come from Obama winning is the fact that all us conservatives could point and say "we told you so"? That's pretty much why I'm relieved. See, McCain shares some pretty crazy non-conservative ideas that simply won't work... Obama does, too. The thing is, if we voted for McCain, and he enacts some crazy thing like buying all the bad mortgages and the economy goes into the toilet and our taxes go up to cover it? The liberals will be able to point to us conservatives and say "this is your guy" and they'll be blaming Republicans and conservatism for what is clearly not a conservative idea... But when Obama and the liberal Congress does something like that after pushing so hard for nationalized financial sectors and redistribution of wealth, and everyone suddenly realizes that this wasn't the dream they were promised, they won't have anyone to blame but themselves. See, in the long run, McCain was going to be bad for Republicans, but in the short run, he was going to be better for the country than Obama.

I'm relieved because conservatives think long term... We're looking toward the next election cycles and we're seeing a cycle where everything has gone haywire thanks to the insanely liberal politics promised by the upcoming administration and Democrats and Republicans and Independents are going to get a rude awakening as to what liberalism actually does to countries and, let me tell you, it ain't going to be pretty. Everyone's going to expect a golden age of prosperity when they're going to be plunged into the dark depths of shared poverty, instead, with the threat of a terrorist attack when the troops are pulled out and our enemies are given a chance to regroup... While this happens, conservatives will be working hard to rebuild the Republican party in another Reagan era of goodness, and when the country lives through the hardships caused by empty liberal promises, when they've lived through the era of Jimmy Carter all over again, they'll be wanting a completely new breath of fresh air and we're going to be there to give it to them!

Plus, I might add, I find this whole Obama election incredibly humorous! Why? Well, the Democrats surely think the people have spoken up, eh? Right? "The people want change! They voted for hope!" Blah, blah, yadda-yadda. So it's a bittersweet day for conservatives across the country because now we have a chance to rebuild the Republican party, but it's an equally bittersweet day for liberals across the country because of something that happened in California and Arizona and Florida... Something the courts have tried for years to overrule the people on and declare unconstitutional, so the people decided to amend their state constitutions so that couldn't be done anymore. Can you guess?

GAY MARRIAGE WAS BANNED IN CALIFORNIA, ARIZONA AND FLORIDA!

(Although the article I link to only talks about California, the AP map at C-SPAN.org also says the two other states passed similar amendments.) Oh, you bet... California, easily the single most liberal state in the entire country, voted against allowing same-sex marriage. Something the state court decided to ignore and approve on their own several months ago. Now, of course, this can be overridden on the national level, but that would seriously undermine a lot of what the liberals are trying to do. Face it, nobody on the national level has ever wanted to do anything about abortion or same-sex marriage because they think it's political suicide. I think they all realize that the majority of people still have some ounce of morals and really don't like the idea of gay couples so they just do whatever they can to suppress votes on the matter and use the courts to twist things around.

Although, how much do you want to bet that the supreme court will try to rule the constitutional amendment as unconstitutional? Haha... Would be fun to see how that turns out. Would be the perfect example of what the conservatives have been saying about the courts ignoring the proper chain of command: VOTERS RULE OVER ALL. I applaud California... I didn't expect that. Also according to the AP map, countless global warming initiatives have been dealt a massive blow. People didn't want them! So yes, over all, it's been the definition of "bittersweet" all around... Of course, I don't see the Obama administration honoring any of these ballot initiatives in the future, but that'll be one of many nails in the liberal coffin during the next 4 years. Yes, indeed...

What You Won't Hear Today

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Two things that you won't hear today... The big day! Election Day! One is the fact that Democrats, not Republicans, are using intimidation tactics to scare people... Nobody really knows why or what their intentions are, but they were there and the police had to be called in to break them up. But they were Black Panthers and obviously supporting Obama, so you won't hear that. Of course, the only network that bothered to cover this was the "conservative" FOX News (that people were laughing at for "supporting" Obama). Someone even called CNN to ask why they didn't cover it. But if you don't want to watch it, fine, but this is verifiable... If you want to ignore it, well, fine. You're just part of the problem!

The next article you will not hear about is the fact that Sarah Palin was exonerated in that fabled "Troopergate" that all the major networks blew out of proportion and got legal action involved. Turns out that she did absolutely nothing wrong, but... You know, nobody's going to cover that, either, even though they're the ones who started the entire fiasco! That was their last scrap of smear against Palin's character and it also turned out to be a complete and total lie. You know all the reporters knew it was pointless because they didn't cover it day in and day out... And now that it's over, well. No need to release the findings, right? Yeah.

So these are some things you won't hear today. One makes Democrats look bad... One makes Republicans look good. Like... The two things the MSM won't ever report on. They'll just keep reporting over and over and over again how much Obama's grandmother impacted his life in some attempt to use her death as a political platform. Ugh... Way to honor her memory. I totally understand what it feels like and I give my sympathies to Obama because I've lost my own grandmother, but when I see the mainstream media pushing these stories at every turn (and Obama letting them), it gets a little annoying. You KNOW they're trying to raise a sympathy vote.

Anyway... There ya' go. Two things you won't hear today. But, hey! It doesn't matter does it? Everyone already voted early because NOTHING could have changed between then and now, eh? Yeah. That argument worked out really well!

"Election Shenanigans"

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

So I read a post (by a liberal) that pretty much going on a huge spill about how evil Republicans are for telling people to vote on November 5th instead of November 4th and how this is why Obama's been pushing for early voting so nobody gets stuck with all the Republicans undermining the election process as if they're the ones trying to ruin the country?

Okay, yeah... read a few CNN ticker tape articles and think you have the whole picture of the election and jump to the foolish conclusion that the Republicans are running all over the place, screwing up the elections for everyone, assuming that the only reason we'll win is if we take advantage of the fabled Bradley Effect. (Talk about buying the Democrat slander pieces hook, line and sinker.) But, you know, feel free to completely ignore the whole ACORN voter fraud thing that's happening in ALL the key states out there in an active attempt to steal the election in a far more insidious way. Of course, THAT doesn't get on your precious CNN ticker tapes because, well... CNN is probably ranked 2nd as the most biased media source, right under NBC. You think they're going to talk about something illegal the Democrats are doing? Hah!

It's funny to read the bit about how everyone should be able to vote unhindered and yadda yadda yadda... Yeah, whatever. If you really thought that, you would be more upset about the fake voters in the system, thanks to ACORN (which Obama is affiliated with), than a few Republicans that are trying to tell people to vote on November 5th. I guess technically, ACORN really isn't "hindering" votes, really, more like drowning out the real people with thousands of fake people who all somehow manage to vote for Obama. I'm not trying to defend the Republicans in the least bit, but I think it's incredibly hilarious that someone who's so dedicated to "fair and open elections" and prides themselves on the fact that they "encouraged even McCain supporters to vote" is flipping their lid over a Republican robot caller and completely ignores ACORN and the consistent cheating that's happening in their own party. Amazing.

I mean, come on... I've been talking about Democrat election insanity since Obama got the nomination. All you have to do is browse the Politics category to see everything that's been going on, and they're all complete with sources, so you don't have to take my word for it. It's utterly amazing how people who can't be bothered with politics at any other time are suddenly the resident experts on Election Day and are convinced of things that really aren't so. I'm not saying I'm an expert, but I HAVE been religiously involved in politics since January, so that definately gives me a little more knowledge than someone who woke up, saw Obama wasn't quite in as much of a lead as they thought, and went into Daily Kos-esque damage control mode, looking for all kinds of things to rip Republicans over. So yeah, I'll probably stop reading Myst Blogs after today. A few more sites got syndicated that I really don't want to sift through, so I'll just add the ones I want to see to my feed reader and ignore it from now on. I mean, it's not even really filled with useful information... A bunch of people crying about how Uru's died (yeah, they're still doing that) and when they try to get serious about something like politics, it turns out to be more like something you'd hear from Chris Matthews instead. It's sometimes humorous to see how much of a zombie follower everyone's become, but... Yeah. Not anymore. If I want to see a bunch of liberals suck up to their party, I'll go read CNN for myself.

For the record, I probably won't read this... Not because I don't want to, but because I just woke up and I don't/can't talk this early. I may later on today, because it could be funny listening to me talk about a crazy liberal, just not yet, at least!

A Great Deal Of Stuff

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

HEAR ME READ: A Great Deal Of Stuff (12:14, 2.8MB MP3)
Go get Adobe Flash Player!

So I got a comment just tonight on how fun my audio posts are, so here's another one! Actually, she told me over IMs how great they were, but she left a comment, too, because she's awesome like that... So here I am, fresh out of the shower with more Showertime Speculation comin' at ya! (Also, I'm still experimenting with volume, so... Kind of keep me informed as to what sounds best. I'm setting it so it's similar to some radio clips I've downloaded and they seem to work okay, so I don't know... Volume is kind of an art, I've noticed.)

First off... Audio blogging. I guess it's officially called "podcasting", and that's what I've been searching for to learn how to provide a handy list of downloads for iTunes, but I simply refuse to acknowledge Apple in this endeavor because my stuck-up Republican pig-headedness spills over into the whole Microsoft vs Apple thing. But... Yeah. If I do start doing this regularly, it'd be nice to have some sort of dedicated RSS feed for just the MP3s so people can load it up easily on their Zunes and iPods. Just imagine how many more listeners/readers I'd get if I let them do that! ...Probably no more than I have right now, BUT! Not the point. I've read up on the whole "you can make RSS feed files all by yourself" (which is a major pain where the sun don't shine) and I've found countless services that offer storage and bandwidth for podcasts, but I have my own storage and bandwidth so I don't WANT that. I've found a few manual applications to automatically make RSS files, but they don't work out really well, so I've experimented with FeedBurner podcast, but that only works if there's only one MP3 file per post... Which is okay, but I sometimes have more than one MP3 link, especially when I'm showing off music or something. So yeah! I need something to interface with WordPress to provide an easy way of podcasting... Maybe even a way to tag the actual voice MP3 as a podcast so the thing doesn't try to send you the Obama National Anthem or something.

But speaking of having my own storage and bandwidth, there's something I need to tell you two listeners (which would be me and Capella)... The server I host this stuff on is broken at times. In simple terms, there's a certain piece that puts a computer online and that sometimes goes off for a split second, but it's long enough to break whatever you're downloading at the time it breaks. This translates into listening to a file that only plays for 30 seconds when it is clearly longer than that... The only thing to do is reload the page and try again. (For those geeks out there: The network interface card in TW's server is broken and the dumbface is too lazy and cheap to replace it with another 10 dollar chunk of silicon so everyone using his server experiences (with alarming frequency) transfer interruptions.) So that's something to watch out for when you try to listen to me and find out that you can't... It's TW's fault. Not mine!

What I also wanted to say was that I'm completely prepared for tomorrow! I actually wrote twice my alotted NaNoWriMo words today... Around 4,000 words instead of 2,000 words... So I don't actually have to take time to get something done to stay on schedule. I usually write at night (because of that whole neuron thing I've talked about before) and tomorrow night is going to consist of me being plastered to my TV, watching FOX News election coverage (because even though they aren't anywhere near conservative, they are the least left-leaning of them all) and yelling at my family to shut the heck up so I can hear what the states are doing. I may even retire to my room and watch CSPAN online, but I imagine that a whole lot of people have the same idea and it's going to be choked... And CSPAN really isn't known for having the most stable streaming system in the first place, so I shudder to think what it'll do tomorrow. I imagine it'll come down "well, we just got word from Ohio that - FREEZE" and then when it comes back on you'll hear "so that's the end of election 2008, folks!" And I'll have to turn in my chair and use Google News to find out who won. The nerve... Making me type when I could have just heard it if their stream didn't die on me.

But I'm really going strong on NaNoWriMo... I've decided to pace myself as much as I can. 2,000 words is my daily goal, but also my daily limit, even if I have more to write. I remember last year when I wrote very nearly 10,000 words in a single day because I was on that much of a roll and then I hit the end of what I already had planned out and it was NASTY until I got my second wind. They say that's really how it's supposed to be done: Fly by the seat of your pants. But I really don't like doing that, so I'll plan and plot and stay up all night churning events and outcomes in my mind until I figure out where I want to go with the next 2,000 words and then I'll run with it. It seems to be working really well... Even with the planning I've done, this is probably the least planned story I've had. It's actually based on a nightmare I had several months ago (so yes, it is science fiction horror, and no, it's not the dream where Obama was chasing me through Voyager with a miniature photon cannon). I only decided on October 28th what story I was going with and at that time, the plot was, more or less, "that dream I had". (I remember it being the 28th, because that was the day that Fallout 3 came out, and was the day I was supposed to have my new computer if I hadn't pretty much lost my job!) But that's what I'm going to keep doing and hopefully I won't experience a huge burn out like I did last year... It was so bad last year that I was actually tossing around the idea of quitting. I hadn't felt that feeling the first year I did it, so it was quite depressing, but I made it through and lived to see another exciting November!

So there you go... Another night of Showertime Speculation: Audio Edition. I'm going to go to bed early because we're going to get up early and beat the lines at the polls. We figure 10 or 11 is a good time, seeing as how that's right before lunch break and there might be a small influx of people rushing to get in, but our district is pretty small as far as population goes, so I really don't see a bunch of lines. Then again, everyone keeps saying that voter registration is going through the roof and to expect a huge turn-out... But, even then, that high voter registration is probably a bunch of illegal voters. It even happened in Indianapolis... For shame. It's amazing how they'll try to pull this off, get caught, and then come up with a ton of excuses as to why they can't fix the problem... Just throw out all the bad registrations and be done with it. Come on. The people who processed the illegal registrations might be stupid, but their fatal flaw is that they think we're stupid, too. But... I abstain. Unlike the liberal whinybutts who think we stole the election, I really don't beat myself up too much about illegal voters, although I do admit that it'll be interesting if Obama happens to win by a very narrow margin. That would have ACORN written all over it.

So I'm signing off now before I go on with another paragraph... Bye!

ELECTION DAY TOMORROW

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

So I'm going to try something new this post, too... I'm going to write the post, and then read it, so everyone can hear how I'm saying it. I don't know why, but I figure I should take advantage of this whole audio thing while I want to do it! I'm still messing around with different recording programs (I'm going to use Audacity, which the open source community swears by... I remember not liking how it worked, but that was when I was working with DVD length multi-hundred megabyte raw Wave files, so a low quality MP3 might fare a little better!) and I'm still messing around with volume, so... Yeah.

ELECTION DAY TOMORROW
Go get Adobe Flash Player!

But today is November 3rd, which means tomorrow is November 4th, which means... You guessed it: Election Day! I just want to take this time to encourage Republicans and conservatives to get out there and vote! Don't let the polls discourage you... That's the intent of them all. Plus, I just read a post that makes fun of FOX News for showing polls that pretty much say the election is going to Obama. Of course, the liberal who posted that was laughing at how even "right-wing FOX" was for Obama, but all of us conservatives know just how NOT conservative FOX really is. But, hey, the liberals have it in their mind that FOX is conservative and we all know how pointless it is to change their minds on things... We keep trying when it comes to Obama's nasty ideas, but FOX not actually being conservative is kind of low on the list of priorities.

But see, that's the whole point... Every poll from every network says something different. FOX has one set of numbers, CNN has a different set of numbers, ABC, CBS, NBC... They all have their own sets of numbers. They all have Obama in the lead, just at different degrees of crushing victory. But the fact is, across the table, all the polls have become narrower as Election Day draws near! Where Obama was 15 points ahead, he's now only 10, and where he was 10 points ahead, it's now merely 4. A while back, some "unbiased" polling group said it was pretty much a statistical tie between the two candidates and the Daily Kos was flipping their lid over how something like that could have happened. Well, folks... Let me tell you: That's what happens when the media artificially inflates the numbers for the candidate they support. As Election Day draws nearer, the polls start to normalize (at least as much as they will without actually giving the Republicans a lead) so the polling services can say, "Hey! Look at our polling data! We were most accurate!" Because who would listen to a polling service who says a candidate was a million points ahead and had the election sealed and then it turns out to be a million points for the other candidate?

Everyone should know by now that he polls mean squat, especially with the last two Presidential elections where President Bush was NOT "supposed" to be the President... The polls were so insanely in Gore's favor that when Bush won, the Democrats were convinced that the election was stolen and a lot of them still think that to this day! That's really the root of this whole "Bush Derangement Syndrome" we've witnessed over the last eight years and BDS is really what's driving the whole campaign on that side! If you don't believe me, all you have to do is listen to Obama blather on about how the last eight years has been absolutely horrible and that McCain is "more of the same". Yeah, he's basing his whole campaign on the fact that people dislike Bush... So much for the clean campaign he promised during the primaries and was praised and lauded for by his loyal disciples in the civilian population and the mainstream media.

I could go into a whole post about how poor an Obama election would be for the country, as I've repeatedly done since the guy cheated his ways through the Democrat primaries, but even though he has recently declared that he wants to bankrupt the coal mining business, and that under his rule, energy prices would skyrocket (because we all know an increase in expenses during a recession is the best thing to do). That all just happened yesterday... Two days before the election. So why would anyone want to vote for someone who will deliberately try to destroy a market during a recession? Didn't this guy promise everyone jobs? How are there going to be jobs if he raises taxes on businesses (thus chasing them overseas where taxes are lighter) and even going so far as to destroy certain markets? Absolutely amazing... But I'm not going to talk about any of that, because I think, by this point, everyone with a brain knows Obama is a horrible, horrible choice, and that everyone who is voting for him isn't going to care about anything like this that comes up, and they've already voted early. No, I just want to say, before Election Day, that what we Republicans need to do is get out there and VOTE.

The media is going crazy trying to tell us there's no point in voting... They're wrong. They were wrong the last two Presidential elections! They've been wrong in the past, and let's show them how wrong they are now. For some reason, they think that if they tell us there's no hope, we're going to sit back and wait for McCain to lose... For some reason, they think we're not going to hear what they're saying and get so upset at the fact that the media is saying the elections are over before they even started, and they don't think we're going to get up and try to prove them wrong! If you think your vote doesn't count, you're crazy! That doesn't work in a country like this... If 100,000 people all thought their vote doesn't count, and they don't even bother, then that's 100,000 less votes for someone who could have had them, and as we recall in November of 2000, 100,000 votes is all it could take to completely change the outcome. This is why ACORN's voter fraud is so despicable, because they know that every little vote counts, illegal or not... So we Republicans need to realize this as well and go out there and show this country we mean business.

So, in closing... Tomorrow? Get off your couch and get out there and vote! This is the future of the country we're talking about here, and an Obama presidency is totally unacceptable and we all know it. So get out there and do your American duty and participate in the process that makes this country the best country on the face of the planet!

Only... Not really. But! In a fit of insanity in the shower, I decided to do something I really hadn't thought of in the history of having a blog: An audio post. What was intended to be a quick way of conveying the ideas I had turned out to be over an hour's worth of voice so I don't know how efficient it turned out, but it was really fun to do and almost more fun listening to myself afterwards, because I'm hearing just how... Funny I am. And I'm being serious, because it seems I have a way of saying things in hilarious tones and I don't even realize I'm doing it at the time, and then I catch it when I hear it the second time around.

Anyway, here are the first seven parts of me talking... Mostly checking microphone volume and making sure everything works properly, since I've never done something like this before in my life. I had to break Skype's perfect volume settings to get it working, but that'll have to be fixed later.

Okay, so after I'd worked on getting everything situated, I settled down into a discussion on what I thought had impacted my life the most... And it turns out to be Myst and the community and how it prepared me to deal with the world at large in a way that was friendly and easy to adjust to. Actually, my talking shifted more towards my most vivid memories over how it all impacted my life, but I guess the vivid memories prove that it was such an influence.

I made three parts, each one is about 15 minutes long and each one weighs about 3MB, which really isn't too bad for voice audio, but I'm going to try to see if I can get that to weigh less... I don't know, though, because 22kbps is about as low as I want to take it. Peter Heck puts his audio clips online at 11kbps and 11khz and it sounds really weird, so I don't know. Then again, his clips are 15 minutes long and weigh only 1MB, so we shall see... If I even decide to continue this method of blogging. I guess it depends on how many people listen, eh? So here are the three main parts:

How Myst Impacted My Life - Part 1

And then I hit a wall as far as what I could say about Myst, but was still incredibly bored, so I decided to ramble on for another 15 minutes in what turned out to be an experiment to see what I would come up with. As you could probably imagine, it wasn't long before the conversation tipped to the political scene, although it's really more about how I lump Democrats into a huge pile when I probably shouldn't.

What Do I Talk About When There's Nothing To Talk About

So there you go, folks... As I've recently begun to say: Knock yourself out! And tell me what you think... I found it enjoyable and very nice to be able to hear exactly how I'm saying the things I'm trying to say, and that does wonders for communicating the proper feeling. Not at all thinking about replacing text posts with audio posts, but I may start including audio clips for blog posts so you can hear what I'm saying, I don't know! We shall see, oh yes, we shall see. SO LEAVE A COMMENT!
