ELECTION DAY TOMORROW

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

So I'm going to try something new this post, too... I'm going to write the post, and then read it, so everyone can hear how I'm saying it. I don't know why, but I figure I should take advantage of this whole audio thing while I want to do it! I'm still messing around with different recording programs (I'm going to use Audacity, which the open source community swears by... I remember not liking how it worked, but that was when I was working with DVD length multi-hundred megabyte raw Wave files, so a low quality MP3 might fare a little better!) and I'm still messing around with volume, so... Yeah.

But today is November 3rd, which means tomorrow is November 4th, which means... You guessed it: Election Day! I just want to take this time to encourage Republicans and conservatives to get out there and vote! Don't let the polls discourage you... That's the intent of them all. Plus, I just read a post that makes fun of FOX News for showing polls that pretty much say the election is going to Obama. Of course, the liberal who posted that was laughing at how even "right-wing FOX" was for Obama, but all of us conservatives know just how NOT conservative FOX really is. But, hey, the liberals have it in their mind that FOX is conservative and we all know how pointless it is to change their minds on things... We keep trying when it comes to Obama's nasty ideas, but FOX not actually being conservative is kind of low on the list of priorities.

But see, that's the whole point... Every poll from every network says something different. FOX has one set of numbers, CNN has a different set of numbers, ABC, CBS, NBC... They all have their own sets of numbers. They all have Obama in the lead, just at different degrees of crushing victory. But the fact is, across the table, all the polls have become narrower as Election Day draws near! Where Obama was 15 points ahead, he's now only 10, and where he was 10 points ahead, it's now merely 4. A while back, some "unbiased" polling group said it was pretty much a statistical tie between the two candidates and the Daily Kos was flipping their lid over how something like that could have happened. Well, folks... Let me tell you: That's what happens when the media artificially inflates the numbers for the candidate they support. As Election Day draws nearer, the polls start to normalize (at least as much as they will without actually giving the Republicans a lead) so the polling services can say, "Hey! Look at our polling data! We were most accurate!" Because who would listen to a polling service who says a candidate was a million points ahead and had the election sealed and then it turns out to be a million points for the other candidate?

Everyone should know by now that he polls mean squat, especially with the last two Presidential elections where President Bush was NOT "supposed" to be the President... The polls were so insanely in Gore's favor that when Bush won, the Democrats were convinced that the election was stolen and a lot of them still think that to this day! That's really the root of this whole "Bush Derangement Syndrome" we've witnessed over the last eight years and BDS is really what's driving the whole campaign on that side! If you don't believe me, all you have to do is listen to Obama blather on about how the last eight years has been absolutely horrible and that McCain is "more of the same". Yeah, he's basing his whole campaign on the fact that people dislike Bush... So much for the clean campaign he promised during the primaries and was praised and lauded for by his loyal disciples in the civilian population and the mainstream media.

I could go into a whole post about how poor an Obama election would be for the country, as I've repeatedly done since the guy cheated his ways through the Democrat primaries, but even though he has recently declared that he wants to bankrupt the coal mining business, and that under his rule, energy prices would skyrocket (because we all know an increase in expenses during a recession is the best thing to do). That all just happened yesterday... Two days before the election. So why would anyone want to vote for someone who will deliberately try to destroy a market during a recession? Didn't this guy promise everyone jobs? How are there going to be jobs if he raises taxes on businesses (thus chasing them overseas where taxes are lighter) and even going so far as to destroy certain markets? Absolutely amazing... But I'm not going to talk about any of that, because I think, by this point, everyone with a brain knows Obama is a horrible, horrible choice, and that everyone who is voting for him isn't going to care about anything like this that comes up, and they've already voted early. No, I just want to say, before Election Day, that what we Republicans need to do is get out there and VOTE.

The media is going crazy trying to tell us there's no point in voting... They're wrong. They were wrong the last two Presidential elections! They've been wrong in the past, and let's show them how wrong they are now. For some reason, they think that if they tell us there's no hope, we're going to sit back and wait for McCain to lose... For some reason, they think we're not going to hear what they're saying and get so upset at the fact that the media is saying the elections are over before they even started, and they don't think we're going to get up and try to prove them wrong! If you think your vote doesn't count, you're crazy! That doesn't work in a country like this... If 100,000 people all thought their vote doesn't count, and they don't even bother, then that's 100,000 less votes for someone who could have had them, and as we recall in November of 2000, 100,000 votes is all it could take to completely change the outcome. This is why ACORN's voter fraud is so despicable, because they know that every little vote counts, illegal or not... So we Republicans need to realize this as well and go out there and show this country we mean business.

So, in closing... Tomorrow? Get off your couch and get out there and vote! This is the future of the country we're talking about here, and an Obama presidency is totally unacceptable and we all know it. So get out there and do your American duty and participate in the process that makes this country the best country on the face of the planet!

Only... Not really. But! In a fit of insanity in the shower, I decided to do something I really hadn't thought of in the history of having a blog: An audio post. What was intended to be a quick way of conveying the ideas I had turned out to be over an hour's worth of voice so I don't know how efficient it turned out, but it was really fun to do and almost more fun listening to myself afterwards, because I'm hearing just how... Funny I am. And I'm being serious, because it seems I have a way of saying things in hilarious tones and I don't even realize I'm doing it at the time, and then I catch it when I hear it the second time around.

Anyway, here are the first seven parts of me talking... Mostly checking microphone volume and making sure everything works properly, since I've never done something like this before in my life. I had to break Skype's perfect volume settings to get it working, but that'll have to be fixed later.

Okay, so after I'd worked on getting everything situated, I settled down into a discussion on what I thought had impacted my life the most... And it turns out to be Myst and the community and how it prepared me to deal with the world at large in a way that was friendly and easy to adjust to. Actually, my talking shifted more towards my most vivid memories over how it all impacted my life, but I guess the vivid memories prove that it was such an influence.

I made three parts, each one is about 15 minutes long and each one weighs about 3MB, which really isn't too bad for voice audio, but I'm going to try to see if I can get that to weigh less... I don't know, though, because 22kbps is about as low as I want to take it. Peter Heck puts his audio clips online at 11kbps and 11khz and it sounds really weird, so I don't know. Then again, his clips are 15 minutes long and weigh only 1MB, so we shall see... If I even decide to continue this method of blogging. I guess it depends on how many people listen, eh? So here are the three main parts:

And then I hit a wall as far as what I could say about Myst, but was still incredibly bored, so I decided to ramble on for another 15 minutes in what turned out to be an experiment to see what I would come up with. As you could probably imagine, it wasn't long before the conversation tipped to the political scene, although it's really more about how I lump Democrats into a huge pile when I probably shouldn't.

So there you go, folks... As I've recently begun to say: Knock yourself out! And tell me what you think... I found it enjoyable and very nice to be able to hear exactly how I'm saying the things I'm trying to say, and that does wonders for communicating the proper feeling. Not at all thinking about replacing text posts with audio posts, but I may start including audio clips for blog posts so you can hear what I'm saying, I don't know! We shall see, oh yes, we shall see. SO LEAVE A COMMENT!
