Sarah Palin Rally
Sunday, November 2nd, 2008Because I'm like... A complete idiot, I never did mention that I uploaded a parcel of photos that I took at the Sarah Palin rally in Noblesville, Indiana that took place way back on October 17. Where are those photos, you ask? Why, they're on my Flickr page, I answer! Each photo has been painstakingly tagged, dated and described for your viewing pleasure. There's 40 of them, and I suggest you look at them all from start to finish. There's a few good ones, but a few not so great ones... And the pictures of Palin herself are very poor since the camera we have doesn't enjoy zooming very close.
I took some video, too, but I'm not going to digitize it because it's all shaky and nasty, but I did manage to download the streaming videos of our local TV news stations that recorded her speech. It's nearly 250MB, though, and in .FLV format which doesn't play very well, but it DOES play on VideoLAN VLC, but you have to open VLC and then drag the .FLV file into it and start it that way. Since it's really big, I'm not going to offer it as a stream, because I don't want to make it easy for people to devour my bandwidth, but I will offer it as a download! Knock yourself out!
I will, however, offer the quick snippet that aired on a local station that I took photos of! Jay Hermacinski of WISHTV News interviews a few people just ahead of us who managed to get the gates first, and then the camera pans to show the line forming so early in the morning AND YOU CAN SEE US! Look!

So now you folks have a big, expanded blurry image to attribute to the guy who makes everyone angry with his crazy conservative Christian insights into politics. Ain't that great? Here's the quick clip itself, since you know you're dying to see me on TV. Please make note that the reporter says "over 20,000 Hoosier Republicans are here." That's right. There were 25,000 people there, as a matter of fact, and that number was said more than once by the people who were actually running the thing, so that's the number there was. However, as the days drew on afterwards, the media started cutting corners and saying "20,000" and "less than 20,000" and someone managed to say "15,000"... What a bunch of poop. Even our local stations are trying to gloss over Palin's incredible success and give the illusion that she's a burden on the Republican ticket. Ah, how clueless they all really are. Anyway, here's the video:
So now you've seen me on TV! And don't forget to check out the Flickr photos, eh? And ignore that dumb bit about McCain being accused of running a smear campaign. I watched that segment, too, and it's pretty much the same ol' liberal whining about things he's said about Obama that "are just dodging the issues" and junk like that. Nothing special. Same ol' garglemesh.
