Objective Media? Hah!

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Media outlets are starting to realize just exactly how conservatives feel when they baselessly attack the ideas we support... When Sarah Palin was picked, the media went OVERTIME trying to discredit her and scare people away from her. The Democrats are terrified that she's managed to rally the Republican party far better than their Obamessiah could ever unite anyone and now they're trying to ruin her so they can get ahead. They've gone out with scathing personal attacks on her and even her children. (Before someone winds up whining abot how Republicans were criticizing Michelle Obama, remember... She's actually campaigning for him. She's out there sharing her beliefs as well as speaking for his beliefs. He's said he counts on her as a trusted advisor, so she's perfectly within limits of scrutiney.)

Well, the Republicans are stirring. I'm not really one to preach about party unity and all those fancy buzzwords, but that's what's happened... McCain himself? Not so much. Palin herself? Absolutely amazing. The fact McCain picked her speaks volumes about what he's willing to do, and Palin's entire record shows exactly what she's GOING to do. It's pretty great. But this move scared the pants of the media, and they're scrambling over each other in an effort to dredge up whatever they can smear her... And it's mostly flat out, unsubstantiated lies. Fox News decided to interview the editor behind the infamous Us Weekly Magazine article about Palin that was titled: "Babies, Lies & Scandal". The Fox reported ripped the editor to pieces over blatant lies and blatant bias. The editor tried to make it sound like they were reporting about the bloggers who brought all this up to begin with, but he failed miserably. (Yes, as a matter of fact, the whole pregnancy "scandal" was first coined by liberal bloggers... Goes to show how insane the "objective" reporters have become, eh?) After ripping him to shreds, Us Weekly is experiencing an entirely new onslaught... This time from subscribers. Or, shall we say, the lack thereof? 10,000 subscribers cancelled their subscription when they got wind of the nasty Palin smear. How's that for letting the media outlets know what people think of them? Look, people... The best way to get the message across to these people is through their money belt. There've been reports of subscribers going so far as to calling the advertisers of Us Weekly and giving them a piece of their mind, too... Could you imagine the impact of being a manufacturer who starts to think they're losing business by having ads in a magazine people begin to despise? If they're human, they're going to let greed kick in and they're going to withdraw their ads from the magazine, period. Why chance the magazine making people angry again and losing more business? It's as simple as that, people.

But GS, you might say, that's a tabloid! Well, fine. How about a similar treatment of a columnist at Baltimore Sun? This reporter basically did the same thing... She loaded the article with baseless lies and worthless opinions (like any modern mainstream reporter does these days) and then managed to gather over 8000 comments that were calling her out for smearing Palin, and now she's crying that people are being mean to her. Absolutely amazing... They hold themselves to not even the slightest bit of accountability, and they push out articles that are clearly pushing an agenda and opinion through what's SUPPOSED to be an objective and unbiased news source and then they get upset when the readers pick up on this and then make it clear that they don't appreciate the slander. I'm not going to expound upon this myself, since the NewsBusters article says pretty much everything that I want to say on the topic. Pretty much: Go cry a river. The liberals are beginning to get a taste of their own medicine and, lo! Behold, they don't like it! Seriously... Go cry a river. Actually, stop pushing your opinion in news articles and THEN cry a river. You might get a little sympathy then, but not now... Ah, the mainstream media: The Obamessiah's public relations branch. All he needs to do is preach from the most high Obamopolis (of which we caught a glimpse during his convention speech with those styrofoam pillars made by Brittany Spears' stage designer) and let the media do all the campaigning for him.

Speaking of convention speeches, I want to toss out one final detail... The popularity of the Republican National Convention. Basically, the RNC stomped ahead of the DNC by 4 million viewers. (RNC had 34 million, DNC had 30 million.) That's great, right? How about this: The DNC had less viewers even when the DNC was aired on 4 MORE NETWORKS than the RNC, and without football games scheduled at the same time. (We were trying to see if the Palin speech was being covered on any channel but PBS, but we were sorely disappointed to find naught but a Giants game on the major networks at the time.) In addition to competing with a football game on the major networks, Obama decided this was the time to go on the O'Reilly Factor to be interviewed... DURING McCain's acceptance speech. Something Republicans have wanted for quite some time. After all that complaining the liberals did to ask McCain to at least not steal Obama's thunder on speech day, the great Obamessiah goes and tries to do just that very thing... And the RNC STILL beat the DNC. With the odds stacked against the Republicans, they showed just exactly how willing people are to hear conservative views... It doesn't matter if the networks make it hard for people to see it, they're still going to see it if they want to. (In fact, I just watched the RNC streamed over the Internet. I didn't want to hear the whining and blathering of the mainstream liberal talking heads after every speech made.)

So yeah... Just a few things I wanted to point out. Conservative Republicans are still a force to be reckoned with, and the media is just now beginning to feel the effects of an irate, united party. If they're not careful, the media is going to obliterate every ounce of their reputation... Not that they have much good reputation left, but if they keep this up, people are going to remember how blindly they supported Obama and how blindly they tried to dredge up all-out lies in order to crush Palin. (Who, I might add, seems to be eating it up... Did you watch her speech? She subtley addressed every point made against her character and family, twisted it back to pierce the hearts of the accusers... All while smiling. Sarah Barracuda, indeed!)
