WE'RE BACK!
If there's anything a Democrat loves... It's a Republican party that's dragging its feet. They love an opposing party that's off-balance, slow, and divided. That's exactly what the Republican party was like before the Democrat National Convention started. There were lots and lots of people (myself included) who did not want McCain running for President and we hadn't decided if we were even going to vote. The Democrats have based their entire campaign taking into consideration the fact that the Republicans were in disarray and not unified.
...And then Sarah Palin was nominated as Republican Vice President.
All I have to say is... WE'RE BACK. We Republicans are charged... We're excited. I think we're as unified as we'll ever be. We're ready to take McCain and Palin to the White House without reservation. We now support McCain like never before because we know he's serious about what he wants to do and that he's willing to give conservatism so much of an ear that he's picked who is probably the single most conservative governor in the entire country. (Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is pretty close, too.) Even without the sheer amount of coverage that the DNC had, the mainstream media and the new media alike are BUZZING with reports of Palin's acceptance speech. I actually tuned in and watch the Republican National Convention for the very first time in my life JUST to hear her speak... Even Rudy Gulianni was great! I was NOT disappointed... I didn't want it to end. I just wanted her to keep going because it was so amazing. I tuned into Rush Limbaugh just 45 minutes ago and he said the VERY SAME THING. It was an AMAZING night... And we didn't even have greek pillars to make our speakers look better than they actually are. They worked purely on their words and they ripped the Democrats to shreds... Plain and simple.
Someone posted Palin's speech in 5 parts to YouTube, so here's the first:
She's absolutely awesome. If you want to continue watching, here's the second part, the third part, the fourth part and the fifth and final part. If you didn't see this speech and you still don't know if you should vote for McCain, you need to watch this... Without a doubt, you NEED to watch this. Granted, this is the first time I've ever been involved in politics so much (and I place the blame for my new hobby squarely in the hands of Peter Heck), but I've never been more excited about a campaign. Sure, I supported Bush the last two elections, but that was different... It seemed like a no-brainer back then. Bush or Gore? Easy: Bush. Bush or Kerry? Easy: Bush. McCain or Obama? Not so easy... Nobody wanted McCain. But then he picked Sarah Palin and that ALL CHANGED.
Look out, Barack Obama!
