Automatic Mario Kumikyoku

Alright, you people! I found a decent video, so now I can share this with you.

First off, a little background. Basically, people have figured out how to make their own levels in Super Mario World. Ya'know... That Super Nintendo game that could quite possibly be the best Marion game ever? Yeah, well, I'm a little biased, too, but oh well. This has given rise to people building levels that would play themselves. There's a bit of physics involved with SMW, like... Mario sliding around and getting an extra jump from smashing turtles. Mario is usually dropped on a conveyor belt sort of contraption to give him momentum, and the level begins! Most are really boring to watch, sadly... But I saw some of the first auto-levels and they were great! But... Then I forgot all about them. A passing fad in my life.

Well, at the same time, over in Japan, there's a Japanese You-Tube equivalent called Nico Nico Douga. (I've seen where translations are supposed to say "happy videos" but... Take that with a grain of salt. Then again, I guess Happy Video is no weirder than You Tube, eh?) This place seems to have a community similar to YTMND where people make random videos and something huge takes off and everyone makes a million variations. Such an endeavor is something called "Kumikyoku", which is a whopping 11-minute music video of music and clips from anime, popular video games (by popular, I mean old-school Nintendo, so eat it, Sony freakwads), you name it, it's in this music mix. There's both a version with lyrics and without. If you're feeling particularly brave, here's a site that has different variations of the lyrical version. But don't say I didn't warn you... It's very... Uhm... Japanese? Completely awesome, but also completely weird by American standards.

Now... How on earth could these two things possibly related? Behold! Automatic Mario Kumikyoku:
