Declaration of Independence
So here's the best Super Bowl ad I've ever seen. Plus! It has Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy!
You know... When I heard them reciting it? Toward the end, I heard this line "appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions". Interesting. You ask most liberal maniacs out there what the religion of the Founding Fathers was and they'll kinda-sorta accept that they were Christians, but they'll tell you that they were "Deists" who believe that God created the universe and then left it to us and doesn't interfere or maybe even bother to watch. That God created, but doesn't interfere. It's a kind of "yeah, they were professed Christians, but not your kind, so butt out of politics" reaction.
Tell me, friend, why would they actively appeal to the Supreme Judge of the world if they believed He wasn't listening? No... No... See, the very idea of this piece of paper is that God imbued us with certain rights, and that he's watching over us to make sure we have those rights, and no government on this planet can revoke the basic rights of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. They were no Deists, and you can plainly see it in the Declaration of Independence itself, if you weren't so freaked out about the idea that Christians started this government and that Christian principles are what made this government and are what made this government last as long as it has.
