My desktop monitor is completely dead now...

Every now and then, it might show an image, but more often than not, it just dims down to complete darkness and you can't see a single thing. Turn it off, turn it back on... Nothing happens. So now I'm relegated to using a single laptop and Remote Desktop Connection, meh. I don't have the money to buy a new monitor right now, darn it! And I don't want some crappy cheapo monitor like this one turned out to be. Honestly, aren't monitors supposed to last somewhere around the 10-year mark? This is what? Only 5 years old? We have a tiny little 12-inch monitor we bought in the very early 90s and even though the permanently attached data-cable is beginning to fray, it works perfectly. I REALLY don't want to have to use that, but it looks like I may have to, since one of my college classes this year has to do with administrating Windows Server 2003 and I'll need a computer to install it on.

Of all the times for this to happen.

Oh, save me...

Also, let's try this on for size:

You know you're a software company fanboy when:
