Zombies!

I had a very weird dream lastnight... it was almost like... a movie. Sorta.

Sometime in the future, it turns out we might have found the ruins of Atlantis, and we wanted to explore it. Unfortunately, it was deep, deep under the ocean and there used to be no way that a person could survive down there without being in one of those bathysphere things.

So anyway. Technology had progressed far enough to allow the creation of mobile suits that could withstand the pressure, and a small team was sent to give them the ultimate test: explore Atlantis! Calculating the precise ocean currents, depth, weight of sphere and all sorts of other stuff, we (of course I was on the team!) were able to land pretty darned close to a landing site picked years ago.

So we check our instruments and cameras and windows and such... and we see a much older sphere not too far off from where we landed. Nobody said aaanything about a previous attempt. So that was our first order of business... check out the other sphere.

These were like... tiny little capsules, mind you. No more than 3 or 4 people could fit inside. Not like some gigantic uber sphere that'll act as a limited homebase. (Dreams don't make sense.)

Anyway, somehow, our present day capsule was able to be opened without flooding it, so we were able to open the hatch and step out into the water using our uber suits. We made our way to the old capsule and eventually opened it up, since we'd decided that whoever/whatever was inside was probably gone or dead... and we were right. We opened it up, and the capsule released a TON of air, flooded, and lots of junk started floating out and to the surface... including an old ragged uniform, but no bodies.

So we started exploring more of the ruins... and we randomly discovered a very high-tech complex hidden amongst the old architecture. It was completely devoid of life, but looked perfectly clean and all the computers and everything seemed to be operating normally.

But then we found skeletons in the closet... like literally. Lots of partly decomposed corpses littered other rooms that weren't seen at first. Here is where my memory starts fogging, but I remember running from really creepy-awful zombies and trying to get back to our capsule, but we were cut off and couldn't. I also remember that we were talking to the pilot of the other capsule, too... but I don't remember if he was a zombie or not.

That's pretty much it! Because then I woke up at 1pm and went 'wow, awesome dream'... then looked at the clock and went 'ooh! time for lunch, yey!'. So yeah... I blame Doom, Surface, Half-Life, Stargate, Resident Evil and those cherry candies I was eating lastnight before bed, hmm.

Man, this could almost be a short story or something.
