No wonder...
Friday, April 7th, 2006The way I see it... when there are people who leave a group because they're getting no help, and the people who remain try to speak up and tell the group they're getting no help... and they've all been doing this for a very, very long time... then, perhaps, just maybe... they might be on to something?
The group leaders say "come to us if you have any problems", and they all seem to be eager to hear what you think... but, for some reason, when this subject comes up, you get scolded and pretty much told to go find another group if you don't like it.
These groups, however, are designed to be groups of people with similar interests that help each other do things that they can't ever possibly do themselves. But when they ask their group for help, they get just pure silence... and when they say "hey, you said to speak up whenever I feel I should... and, well, nobody's ever even responded to me when I asked for help... what gives?" and then the folks in charge say "you know, we aren't here to help you on every little thing you ask about... "
No wonder people leave.
I'm sure those of you who belong to this "group" know exactly what I'm talking about... and before you go scolding me about not going to the leaders about it first, remember that it's been done. Several times, in fact... and they don't listen.
