New news clips at Gateworld.net!

READ! For the love of Stargate, read it now. No excuses for delay if you're a fan.

They covered a few generic things. Like the fact they need a publisher. Which has somewhat settled my fears that Ubisoft may somehow be involved. (Come on, some of you had to wonder, seeing as who and how many folks are community managers... no intended offense to them, but they still had me worried.)

They're going to include elements of Atlantis and SG1 in their game, promote gigantic guilds with (what they hinted at) the ability to build motherships for yourself. They plan on building vehicles, and including a non-combative play.

I really hope they do something new with the non-combative play. What they listed as an example is pretty much what everyone else already has. They're just production skills you use to make money, but you can't actually progress through the game with them. It would be really sweet if they did something with that smuggling skill they mentioned.

Missions. Quest are the bomb. But only if you do it correctly. Personally, I would like to see a dynamic mission generator with complex, variating quests. Not something horrible like Starwars Galaxies where you walk up to the terminal and it says "kill 20 of these", or "kill 20 of those", or "destroy this imperial camp". It got really boring, really fast. Actually, what I'd like to see, is a dynamic mission generator AND specialized missions that you might pick up in, say, a tavern on another planet... or from the Tok'ra or someone. Really big juicy quests that are really unique... but still have a decent mission generator for the times you don't really WANT to fight. Like good ol' exploration missions. "Go investigate planet blah-blah, check for signs of civilization and assess any threats."

As some of you may already know, I help a friend of mine run an auction business. I take care of interacting with the customers, processing payment, leaving feedback and just keeping track of a whole bunch of stuff. Essentially, I'm a Customer Service Representative. (Man, I love saying that... I can't wait to use it on a resume!)

Anyway... I was leaving positive feedback for someone who bought a videogame from us. I've got about 10 positive comments I rotate through, and thanks to Firefox auto-fill feature, I usually just have to type a letter to get the one I want. Well... I typed 'G', which should have brought up a list of "Good/Great/etc" comments. But, noooo! Instead of bringing those up, Firefox suddenly decided to go: "Hey! Let me just hit Submit for GS here at this very moment." ...and so it did.

This poor Mom now has a positive feedback with the comment of just "g". o.O

Thank God it wasn't sitting on NEGATIVE when it decided to submit.
I did, by the way, explain to her what happened... not that I needed to, but I just did.
